Hot Coffee, Warm Molasses Donuts and Overflowing Blessings

This morning I needed to go to the laundry mat to wash some blankets. When my husband and I got there we met a woman that was having trouble with the change machine. Usually, I have a lot of trouble myself with those kind of machines. But before I helped her I said a prayer and called upon the angels to help me. The money slipped right in and the change came out for the woman. She was very thankful and I continued to help my husband load the washer.

A little while later the woman asked me again for assistance. I once again said a little prayer and called upon the angels to help me. The money slipped right in and the woman's change came out. The woman wanted to buy me some coffee. It has been freezing out around here and I said it was no trouble to assist her but I did not want her to go out in the freezing cold. I then went over to load the dryer with my blankets.

The woman told me she would be back and left the laundry mat. I patiently, waited for my blankets to dry. Within a few minutes the lady returned with a fresh box of warm molasses donuts from the bakery. She handed them to me and again thanked me. I felt bad but I felt God tell me to graciously accept the donuts. I graciously accepted the donuts and asked God to bless her one thousand fold. When my blankets were dry and folded I said thank you once again to the woman and wished her a day full of blessings and a Happy Thanksgiving. My husband and I left the laundry mat and drove home.

At home I made a fresh pot of hot coffee to serve my husband and me. Together we ate the warm molasses donuts and sipped hot coffee. I thought about how blessed I was to have met the woman and asked God to keep blessing her with abundant blessings.

Blessings come in many forms and sizes. The greatest blessings come with sincerity and love.
May we always be willing to give to others. It is in giving that blessings will overflow our days.
Nothing in this life is a coincidence. If we keep our hearts open and keep the dust from our eyes, we will see the beauty of God's perfect plan of perfect love.

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Thoughts and Blessings,
God bless you,

Calling on the Angels

Yesterday was a hectic day, especially in the morning. I needed to drive my daughter back to college and we awoke to thick fog. I get really nervous in fog and decided to wait a bit. I called upon the angels to clear a path of safety for us and began tidying up the house. After a few minutes I noticed it was brighter outside. I looked and the sun was coming out and the fog was lifting. My daughter, dog and I got in the car and started on our way.

I started the car and said a prayer of thanks to God and His angels for helping us. Well my gas gauge is broken and most of the time reads empty. I was not sure how much gas I had. Again, I called upon the angels and asked that the gauge would read accurate this time. Within 5 minutes of driving my gas gauge rose from empty and moved to one spot where it remained. I was able to tell how much gas I had and I did not have to stop for gas.

Well I got off the right exit on the highway and a huge tractor trailer truck cut in front of me. Because I could not see beyond the truck I drove right past the next exit that I was supposed to take onto a different highway. Well I called upon the angels one more time. I saw a sign that read the town where I was headed but on a different route. I decided to take the different route to hopefully get my daughter back to college on time. I asked the angels of God to guide me to the college, safely.

As I traveled a different route I noticed another sign that read the name of my daughter's college. We followed the direction of the sign and we were at the college in less than 5 minutes. The route I took was actually shorter and less distance than the usual route I take. Praise God!

Tears filled my eyes as I thanked God and His angels for all the help and for the three little but priceless miracles I had received.

God bless you,

Pray for Stephanie

I just read on Facebook that a 14 year old girl named Stephanie was involved in a serious car accident this morning. She was on her way to ice skating. The prognosis at this point is not good. But I believe, With God All Things Are Possible. Please pray with me. I do not know Stephanie but as a mother this touched my heart. I would appreciate as much prayer as possible if my child was involved in such a serious accident. Thankyou and God bless you.

The Blessing of the Peppercorn Steak

I am probably on the lowest ladder of quality chefs. I can cook but boy do I make mistakes sometimes. Sometimes I think I wear a sign, "Burned Food Find Me". It would take a few months to write about my cooking mistakes so I will write about last night.

I wanted to cook my husband a nice steak. I started cooking the steak and realized I forgot to add the seasoning that he loves. Thinking I had the right seasoning, I opened the cap and poof half the container of peppercorn fell out onto the steak. Shocked, I stood there as the Ghost of Cooking Horror appeared to me. I started to shiver and tears filled up in my eyes.

When I finally got my focus back I asked God to help me save the steak. I immediately felt His presence. As I calmed down I began to remove the peppercorn from the steak. By the Grace of God the steak was saved! I was able to clean off the peppercorn, reseason the steak and cook it in a different pan. I thought about the wonderful, loving husband I had. I thought about how after every meal he says thank you, even the burned ones! Tears began to fill my eyes again. This time they were tears of blessings and joy. I thanked God for bringing me the perfect man; a man that could even put up with my cooking horrors.

Gentle Whispers

I have always been intrigued by butterflies. My mom used to say whenever you see a butterfly someone from heaven is watching over you. Lately, I have been seeing an abundance of butterflies. My favorite are yellow butterflies.

Today, while my dog and I were taking a walk we saw an exquisite brown butterfly with yellow trim around its wings. The butterfly flew over my dog and then almost landed on my shouder. I had been praying for my daughter in college and for another special prayer. When I saw the butterfly a gentle peace came over me. I could hear the Lord's gentle whisper that all is well and all will be well.

The Lord talks to us in many gentle ways. Sometimes we hear a bird sing. Sometimes we see a beautiful sunset. Sometimes butterflies bring His gentle whispers of love. Let us open our hearts to the beauty and wonders of the blessings all around us. Let us know that God's love is always with us, every moment of every day.

A Time of Celebration

My daughter leaves in one week for college! The past couple of weeks have been a time of roller coaster emotions. One minute I am happy for her and the next minute I am filled with tears and feeling overwhelmed. I will miss her terribly but this is her time to live her life and be happy.

My daughter and I have always been very close. This summer we have gotten even closer. I know this will not change. I have enjoyed all our talks and all the things we have done together. It is an honor to be in her presence. She is such a beautiful person, inside and out. Her heart is full of pure love, free of judgment and full of optimism. Although my eyes fill with tears, I will remember the glow of happiness on her face. I will celebrate her beauty and celebrate this time.

Dear Heavenly Father, Give all parents the strength to let go of our children. Help us to place the trust of their well being into your hands. Help us to remember that your angels surround them and You hold them in the palm of your hands. They are shielded with your love and under the protection of Your wings. Let us remember that this is a time of celebration for the beautiful people they have become and will grow to be. Hold us Lord and hold our children close to your heart, forever in Your precious love, in the precious name of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Little Blessings...Lots Of Love

Little Blessings...Lots of Love, is a new outreach project that I have started. The mission of the project is "Blessing People...Blessing Animals in small ways of kindness and love. There are many ways to bless others. The blessing of a smile and a warm hug are free of material cost but are priceless to someone or an animal in need. Prayer is one of the most powerful ways you can bless people and animals.

We all have talents and gifts given to us from God. Some of us can bake. Some of us can write. Some of us can build. All of us can be kind to people and animals in small ways. If we get still before God and open our hearts, ideas will come to us. In blessing others, multitudes of blessings will fill our lives with happiness and prosperity.

May God guide each of us this day to open our hearts and reach out our hands in kindness and love.

God bless you.

Changing Seasons

The other day I got a phone call that my eldery neighbor, of whom is 96, would be moving in with his family and then on to an assisted living facility. My neighbor and I have become close friends. He is like a grandfather to me.

Although I was sad to have him leave I am glad he is in a safe place and no longer living alone. I told him I would make sure the bird feeder outside in his yard is kept full of fresh food. I also told him I would visit the other neighbor's dog that went to my elderly neighbor's house across the street every day. He was more concerned about the dog and the birds than he was of himself.

At the same time I am getting ready to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday and then her high school graduation in June. She will be leaving for college to live at school in September, 2008. Although part of me is sad to have her grown up and leaving the nest soon, I am excited and happy for her. She is such a blessing and has enriched my life with overflowing joy.

Life can change in the twinkle of an eye. I am learning to focus on the present moment and wrap myself in God's joy. My eyes are learning to focus on the beauty all around me and be very grateful for all the precious gifts in my life. I go for several walks a day with my little dog and listen for the birds singing or listen to the snow crunching beneath my feet. Spring is here and the Spring birds have come back. We still have plenty of snow to melt but soon it will be time to plant flowers.

Each moment is a new beginning filled with hope and wonder. May we cherish the gift of the present moment and place it in the depths of our hearts. May we know that we are loved dearly by God and His angels. May we each know that there is a specific purpose for each person, each flower, each animal, each sunrise and sunset. May we wrap ourselves in God's joy and rest in His peace.

In God's blessings of light, love, peace and joy,
KM

Then Comes The Morning

Today as we remember the sufferings of Jesus on Good Friday, we reflect on our own sufferings. In the midst of our sufferings a light was ready to guide us into the morning sunlight. I heard a saying once that says it is always darkest before the dawn. Our sufferings will soon pass. The dawn is breaking and then comes the morning.

God reaches out His hand and His heart to us. If we take His hand, He will never let go.

Happy Easter,
In God's precious blessings of light, love and peace,

God Is Listening

It is hard to believe another holiday season has past. Winter can be a lonely and stressful time. It can especially be hard if you are struggling with an emotional, physical or financial setback. Sometimes it feels like our prayers are worthless and God has forgotten us. How can we find comfort when it seems like everything is coming against us?

God tells us, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10.

It says in the bible that no prayer ever goes void. God hears every one and takes our tears and places them in a bottle, deep within His heart.

Many times throughout my life I felt like God had abandoned me. I struggled with depression and anxiety along with financial difficulties. Sometimes things were so overwhelming I did not want to get out of bed. Some days were so difficult that all I had the strength to do was cry. Then one day I heard an uplifting message that made me realize that there was at least one more person in the world feeling just like I was. This other person desperately needed my prayers. I prayed through sobs of tears for this other person of whom I did not know. Remarkably, I started to feel better. My own troubles did not seem so bad. Then a gentle peace began to soothe me like someone was massaging my shoulders. I knew at that moment that God was listening.

One day all of our tears and struggles will be turned into jewels. The jewels will be perfectly woven into crowns of glory. We will look into Our Lord’s eyes as He places our crowns on our heads. In His eyes we will see only love. We will know that every moment of every day, God was, is and will be with us. Forever we will rest in His love.

Planting a Kindness Garden

Start with soil rich in hope.

Plant seeds of gentle words.

Make sure there is plenty of light and warmth from your heart.

Water it daily with forgiveness and compassion.

Pull out weeds of fear and doubt.

Nourish it daily with acts of love and service.

Soon when the snow has melted, peace will begin to bloom.

May God bless you with all good things and may you be embraced with the strength and protection of angels.
