God Is Listening
It is hard to believe another holiday season has past. Winter can be a lonely and stressful time. It can especially be hard if you are struggling with an emotional, physical or financial setback. Sometimes it feels like our prayers are worthless and God has forgotten us. How can we find comfort when it seems like everything is coming against us?
God tells us, “Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10.
It says in the bible that no prayer ever goes void. God hears every one and takes our tears and places them in a bottle, deep within His heart.
Many times throughout my life I felt like God had abandoned me. I struggled with depression and anxiety along with financial difficulties. Sometimes things were so overwhelming I did not want to get out of bed. Some days were so difficult that all I had the strength to do was cry. Then one day I heard an uplifting message that made me realize that there was at least one more person in the world feeling just like I was. This other person desperately needed my prayers. I prayed through sobs of tears for this other person of whom I did not know. Remarkably, I started to feel better. My own troubles did not seem so bad. Then a gentle peace began to soothe me like someone was massaging my shoulders. I knew at that moment that God was listening.
One day all of our tears and struggles will be turned into jewels. The jewels will be perfectly woven into crowns of glory. We will look into Our Lord’s eyes as He places our crowns on our heads. In His eyes we will see only love. We will know that every moment of every day, God was, is and will be with us. Forever we will rest in His love.

Planting a Kindness Garden
Start with soil rich in hope.
Plant seeds of gentle words.
Make sure there is plenty of light and warmth from your heart.
Water it daily with forgiveness and compassion.
Pull out weeds of fear and doubt.
Nourish it daily with acts of love and service.
Soon when the snow has melted, peace will begin to bloom.
May God bless you with all good things and may you be embraced with the strength and protection of angels.
